  She attended rural school near Ord. She and her husband farmed in the Glenvil area until the Naval Ammunition Depot was built. They then bought a farm near Clay Center. In 1969, they moved near Blue Hill where they farmed for 10 years. They returned to their farm near Clay Center in 1979. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
