  Notes	Charles worked for a junk yard. His job was using an acetylene torch to cut up junk cars, and other big items, so they could be loaded into the train cars, for recycling. Prior to WW II, he had a frayed hose, which ruptured. Flames went up one trouser leg, around his waist and down the other. Seventy percent of his body was third degree burns. His accident was what led him to get a farm. The insurance company made a cash settlement, which paid for the farm.
